What, after all, is more boring, more obvious than Jorge Pardo’s minimal interior arrangements?
The idea of this exhibition is based on a series of e-mails that Vangelis Vlahos exchanged with Daniel Martinez during the preparation of a PRoject SPace’s show with Deep River, a non-profit space which ran from 1997 to 2002 in Los Angeles.
The exhibition was never realized. Two years later PR.SP. brings together the work of five artists from LA, which in different ways develops a less formalistic way of approach.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a publication, including texts by :
Julie Deamer, San Francisco based curator and writer
Abolhassan ben Gazzara, Los Angeles based writer
Althea Ligda, Cal Arts graduate from Critical Studies
Nina Louie, San Francisco based writer
Corrina Peipon, Los Angeles based artist
Alma Ruiz, Associate curator at MOCA, Los Angeles
PR.SP. is an independent project run by artist Vangelis Vlahos.
PR.SP. aims to provide a venue for the most progressive art practices by young artists.
PR.SP.’s program is, since September 2002, financially supported by The Breeder projects.
